los angeles
at the end of camp i drove to los angeles to stay with my friend rick, who was also the camp director. rick has been a friend since 7th grade. he does this great trick where he pops out his front teeth when you least expect it. puts me in stitches every time. he took me on a personal tour of universal city, where i got to walk around the set of the jim carry movie, the grinch that stole christmas. the most enjoyable part of the tour was sitting in the cafe covering my face as the tour busses rolled through and seeing how many people took pictures. that's was fun. the other person i got to see in LA was one of the camp pepsters by the name of debbie. while debbie and i were drinking coffee at some shi shi joint, a giant green car pulled up with a guys name on a billboard mounted to the top of the car. there were tiny pictures of this man framed and welded to it's body. and out steps this aging shameless freak. i quite enjoyed watching him try and sell his "movie" to the patrons of the coffee shop. and so i bought one for $5. not quite a movie, but more clips from tv shows like entertainment tonight and the likes. seems this gentleman is infamous around hollywood for being a freak. hometown hero for LA, i suppose. so debbie and i left and returned to ricks where we had shameless animal sex!....ok not really, we did talk until three am about the world and it's turnings. life and the it's possibilities. despite what you hear about los angeles, i must say i wouldn't mind living there so much, ...at least for a little while. the people are seemingly nice, and easy going. though there is that everyone believes they are talented and on the road to stardom. they are all pretty, yet not attractive. a very plastic society. but still pleasant. my other favorite part of los angeles was that the iliad bookstore is next door to the odyssey video. worth a chuckle.
